Getting Started

Welcome to IELTS Writer! Here's how to begin improving your writing:

  • Navigate: Use the sidebar on the left to access different sections.
  • Start Writing: Go to 'Writing Task 2'. You can type your essay prompt into the designated area or pick one of the essay prompts from the Task Bank Then start writing in the editor below.
  • Saving: Your essays are automatically saved as you type, so you don't have to worry about losing progress. You can load previous essays using the 'Load Essay' button.

Features for All Users

All registered users have access to the following features:

  • Write & Save Essays: Practice writing Task 1 (coming soon!) and Task 2 essays. Your work is saved securely.
  • Essay Ideas: Get inspiration for Task 2 essays by browsing the 'Ideas' section, curated by admins.

Pro User Features

Upgrade to a Pro account to unlock powerful AI features and enhance your learning:

  • Personal Knowledge Base: Create and manage your own collection of vocabulary, sentence patterns, and writing strategies in the 'Knowledge' section. Categorize them by task type (Task 1, Task 2, General) and knowledge type (Language, Strategy).
  • AI Suggestions & Analysis: This is the core Pro feature! While writing, press K (or Ctrl+K on Windows/Linux) to trigger the AI.
    • The AI reads the essay prompt, your current writing, your entire personal Knowledge Base (both 'Language' and 'Strategy' types), and the suggestion history for the *current essay*.
    • It provides specific, actionable advice and inline suggestions (text replacements) tailored to your writing and the knowledge you've stored.
    • The AI is context-aware; it considers previous suggestions to avoid repetition and build upon feedback, helping you address weaknesses progressively.
